Celebrate Independence Day right here in Yorktown. The entire Greater Williamsburg area will be bursting with activities and events to celebrate America’s independence. From live music to spectacular firework displays, here are some things to do on Fourth of July in Yorktown.

Yorktown Fourth of July Events and Activities

Yorktown Independence Day 8K & 5K

Start your morning with a run or walk during the Yorktown Independence Day 8K and 5K. This race takes runners on a loop course along the scenic roads and trails of Yorktown Battlefield. The 8K is open to runners, while the 5K is for walkers and runners.

Yorktown Independence Day Celebration

Following the race, head to Water and Main Streets for the family-friendly Yorktown Independence Day Celebration. A patriotic parade will proceed down the streets. You’ll also be able to enjoy live music, a bell-ringing ceremony and more. This free celebration ends with a firework display over the York River.

Liberty Celebration

Visit the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown for the Liberty Celebration. This event salutes the 243rd anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The whole family can watch artillery firings, take part in military exercises and more.
