Memorial Day Activities at Colonial Williamsburg
Memorial Day Commemorative Program
On Memorial Day, Colonial Williamsburg will hold a Memorial Day Commemorative Program. To honor the men and women who died defending the freedom of our country, the Fifes and Drums of Colonial Williamsburg will lead a procession. This procession will go to the sites where Revolutionary and Civil War veterans are buried.
The Memorial Day Commemorative Program begins at 10 a.m. and is free and open to the public.
Colonial Williamsburg Regular Programming
Over Memorial Day weekend, those who purchase tickets to Colonial Williamsburg can still enjoy the regular programming throughout the day. Go on a carriage ride throughout the Historic Area. Tour the Governor’s Palace and other historic sites, or fire a reproduction of an 18th-century flintlock musket.
Visit Hennage Auditorium for a World War I sing along during Over There! Singer Deborah Soderholm and pianist Robert Hodge will entertain with popular war-time music that united the country during WWI.
In the evening, head to Market Square for a performance from the Fifes and Drums during Marching into the Evening. This event is free and open to the public.
Colonial Williamsburg Memorial Day Weekend Tickets
During Memorial Day weekend and Memorial Day, from May 24–27, Colonial Williamsburg will offer free admission to all active duty, reservist and retired members of the military and national guardsmen, as well as their immediate dependents.
The Honoring Service to America tickets are available with a valid military ID. Tickets must be purchased at one of Colonial Williamsburg’s on-site ticket sales locations.
